Big fish: St. Joe County hauls in $3.5 billion GM/Samsung battery plant

We recently came across this article and share it here. We shared this with the Indiana DNR to keep them informed as well. We want to be vigilant in considerations of sharing aquifers with businesses around Hudson Lake. It is exciting news to bring economic expansion to the area and even better that we were able to determine that the new plant will be using utilities out of South Bend, including their water needs.

Hudson Lake Conservation Association Announces New Leadership &Initiatives for Enhanced Conservation Efforts

[Hudson Lake, June 9, 2023] – The Hudson Lake Conservation Association (HLCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kevin Smith as the new President of the organization (www.hudsonlakeindiana.com). Additionally, the HLCA welcomes Ms. Georgette Joyce as a new board member at large. With their extensive experience and passion for environmental conservation, Mr. Smith and Ms. Joyce are poised to lead the association into a new era of sustainable practices and increased community engagement.

Hudson Lake Drain is serviced, THE drain is fully closed, ditch is DRY!

There was great concern expressed by the community over the past few months that the valve was not closed fully. The ditch had a steady flow of water. The consensus was that the valve was not fully closed - possibly clogged by debris preventing the closure. Others felt that the 40 plus year old structure was somehow compromised, thus causing the water flow into the ditch.
