You like the outdoors…
Be it experiencing the beauty of nature - walking, fishing, or the peacefulness of just sitting by the lake - you can help. If you see something awry with lake levels, gather as many details as you can and submit an event report on our site by clicking the Event/Status Reporting button above. Maybe you use or pass by the public ramp, beach, Lakeshore Dr, drain, or drain ditch often and can volunteer to be on the Community Lake Watch team. Team members submit periodic reports on the status of these various locations around the lake. Being a volunteer can marry what you love with what the lake needs!
Do you like to learn new things?
Have you been looking for a way to feed the inner communicator in you? Wanna make sure that the word gets out? Then maybe you would like to join our HLCA website team. You can go as shallow or deep as you wish. From simple posted updates for FaceBook, Instagram, news, and events to learning how to update graphs like lake levels and/or help build out new functionality at our e-store! Maybe you are interested in learning how we get funding from the LARE programs or other entities – even businesses. There are many ways to explore where funding can come from. Many of our projects could use someone willing to dig deep and find those avenues that lead to support of our lake. Who says volunteering is boring?
Do you like sharing and engaging on Facebook or Instagram?
Then join our HLCA website team and assist in managing our social media platforms. We are looking for people to help communicate our purpose with respect to Hudson Lake and our commitment to care for it. Engagement is key to creating a social community that cares as much as we do, showing how much we love the lake and sharing Hudson Lake’s beauty and all-sport offerings. Make the rest of the world jealous! There’s a fine art to keeping people in the conversation and you can help us get the word out!

If you like hobnobbing with others, but also care about getting things done, we could use you! When you are looking for answers or support, networking is key. When you are working to attack a complex problem, building relationships and partnerships are the key to success. HLCA is doing both! We have spent our entire existence building relationships with the Indiana DNR at many levels. In the last 3 years we’ve deepened the ones we have and have expanded to county and other government areas. Hudson Lake has been somewhat neglected for too long. It is time for us to get the support we need and deserve. So, no stone will be left unturned as we continue to engage beyond our backyard to the state and even federal levels. Not just in financial matters, but in lake management planning and academic enrichment until Hudson Lake is on everyone’s radar.
If you like working with numbers…
If you like working with numbers, managing projects or being on a team, we could use your talents. There are all kinds of tasks, requiring varying levels of experience – some very little experience. Consider joining our HLCA Board and help with finances, budgets, and spreadsheets – oh my! How about leading or being a team member on one of our projects? If we all help here and there, the burden gets spread out to manageable levels. Progress will always continue, but the more people helping makes for quicker success. Raise a hand! Lend a hand!
